The first quarter of 2024 revealed intriguing trends in the performance of the top five social networking applications on a unified platform in Nigeria. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides a comprehensive overview of Telegram Messenger, WhatsApp Messenger, Facebook, Messenger, and Signal - Private Messenger.

Telegram Messenger from Telegram FZ-LLC saw a notable increase in weekly revenue, starting at approximately $4.7K and peaking at $11.8K by the end of March. Weekly downloads fluctuated, beginning with around 409K and dipping to 235K mid-quarter, before rebounding to 307K in the last week. The app maintained a strong user base with weekly active users rising from 6.3M to 6.7M over the quarter.

WhatsApp Messenger, published by WhatsApp Inc., demonstrated consistent weekly downloads, initially about 462K, peaking at 582K, and closing the quarter at 323K. It had a robust engagement with weekly active users growing steadily from 45.2M to 49.7M.
